Part-Time Library Assistant Opening

 

The Job:  The Insurance Library Association of Boston is currently seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant. The person filling this position will be responsible for filings in treatises and manuals, shelving books, some light reference work, and other projects as they arise. In addition to these tasks, the Assistant will work with librarians in entering bibliographic records into the library’s newly acquired electronic cataloging system. In the future this position may entail increasingly responsible functions, including those related to office management and oversight of classes run under the auspices of the Association.

 

The Requirements: We are looking for a friendly, flexible, dedicated, and detail-oriented person. Bachelor’s degree required, additional related degrees or designations (MLS, CPCU etc.) preferred. Familiarity with the Insurance Industry highly desired. A working knowledge of personal computers and the Microsoft Office Suite is necessary. The successful candidate must be able to organize and prioritize workload and learn new skills fairly quickly. Minimum twenty-five hours a week.

 

Compensation: DOE mid-$20s: benefits available
