The Library is generally open to members, and members of the public wishing to use our collection of insurance materials for personal research, Monday—Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Friday afternoons are reserved for staff meetings and special projects.)
The Library is closed on most federal and state holidays. When the Boston Public Schools are closed due to weather, the staff will likely work remotely. There are rare days when–due to staff schedules, off-site meetings, or remote working–no staff will be at the Library for part or all of a day. Therefore, especialy if you are travleing into Boston to visit the Library, we suggest you call our main number, 617-227-2087, to see if someone will be here.
If you are a member (or employee of a member organization) and you wish to use our conference room for a meeting or a place to work between meetings elsewhere, please call well in advance (and at a minimum one business day ahead) to see if our conference room is available, as we have limited space.
The Library will be closed on Monday, September 2, for Labor Day.
